Auto Insurance
Auto insurance provides various types of coverage that protect you, your assets, and your vehicle. It also protects other drivers and their cars from you. All of them are valuable, but not all of them are required. At Continuum Insurance Group in North Carolina, we ensure our customers have all the information they need to choose the right auto insurance.
Required coverage
The required coverage in North Carolina is liability coverage of 30/60/25. This coverage pays for injuries sustained by the driver and passengers in a vehicle you collide with, which you are responsible for. The $30,000 is for personal injury to one person, with a total for all injuries in an accident of $60,000. The $25,000 is for vehicle damage to their car.
Optional coverage
- Collision coverage covers your vehicle in the event of an accident you are responsible for or if you are the victim of a hit-and-run. It will pay to repair or replace your car after you pay a deductible.
- Comprehensive coverage covers many things other than a collision that can damage your car. Things like floods, high winds, hail, ice, or vandalism. This coverage also covers the theft of your vehicle. Glass coverage is usually included as part of this coverage, and there is no deductible.
- Gap coverage is beneficial if you have a new car and a car loan. Your vehicle loses value as soon as it leaves the dealership. If you get in an accident and the vehicle is totaled, the insurance may not pay you enough to pay off your loan. This insurance will fill the gap.
- Rental car coverage provides you with a rental car if your vehicle is damaged in an accident. It will allow you the car for the number of days guaranteed by your policy.
